Hi, we're Claire and Kraig
A Melbourne couple with two beautiful kids, and the team behind One Fine Plan. Claire is a product manager and wedding day planner, and Kraig is a lead developer.
Our story
2019 and 2020
Getting married
Planning our 2020 wedding showed us there is a lot involved, and the tools available at the time still had us resorting to spreadsheets. We built our own website for the day, but the planning side was the bigger gap. We wanted tools that are easy to use and do what you need them to do.
April 2020
An idea
During Covid lockdown we talked about what we would do if we could do anything. That's when the idea for One Fine Plan was born. It started with some late night conversations, then progressed to rough sketches exploring what the app could look like.
2020 and 2021
Mapping it out
We soon began developing a more detailed plan for the app and started creating a database schema. Before we could look at building, we wanted a good idea of what features we wanted and how we wanted the app to behave.
February 2022
Our first child is born
In February 2022 everything slowed down as we welcomed our first child into the world, soaking in the newborn moments and learning how to be parents.
August 2023
Our second child is born
In August 2023 everything slowed down even more as we welcomed our second child into the world. While the app was always in the back of our minds, it was something we had to put on hold for the time being.
2024 and 2025
Building began
In 2024 we were finally ready to pick up building the app. We experimented and iterated with different technologies before settling on the blueprint of what would become One Fine Plan. From there we refined each component, the aim being that couples could truly be rid of every other tool and spreadsheet when planning their wedding day.
April 2026
The final stage
After many late nights, fitting it in around our day jobs and our kids, we finally had something we were happy to share with family and friends.
July 2026
Preparing for launch
After three months of couples testing the platform and making adjustments from the feedback they gave us, we were ready to open One Fine Plan up to everyone.
August 2026
Launching the plan
One Fine Plan launched in August 2026. Everything in it exists because one of us said couples need this, or because someone testing it told us they would love it if it did this.
There's no large team of people, no investors. Just the two of us and whatever spare time we can find. We hope you love using it and that you only need it once. Here's to your happily ever after.
